Graves Statement on Top-Line Appropriations Agreement

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves (Louisiana) released the following statement today on the top-line appropriations agreement:

“The top-line appropriations agreement is a solid step forward that preserves the historic savings from the Fiscal Responsibility Act led by former Speaker McCarthy. The agreement announced today pulls forward $10 billion in IRS recissions from FY25 to FY24 and captures an additional $5-6 billion in recently-recovered COVID funding. I commend Speaker Mike Johnson for his relentless pursuit of savings and getting government to do its job. The next step is to ensure the appropriations bills include key provisions on border security, domestic energy, streamlining critical infrastructure, and addressing other massive failures of the Biden Administration.”
