U.S. Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) congratulates Baton Rouge Magnet High School and Westdale Heights Academic Magnet for receiving this year's National Blue Ribbon designation. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

"This is a huge accomplishment by the teachers and administrators at Baton Rouge Magnet and Westdale Heights Academic Magnet. It's been an extraordinary tough learning environment the past year and a half but this shows their hard work and commitment to the next generation. And a special shoutout to all the parents too who have bought into each school's mission and continued to make our local schools a great place to educate our youth," Graves said.
