Graves’ Pro-Louisiana Provisions in Play as House Transportation Committee Takes Up Water Infrastructure Package

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) has a slate of provisions on the table to advance Louisiana's ports, inland waterways, flood protection, restoration and other water-related infrastructure priorities as the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee considers the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 (WRDA) later this morning. Graves' staunch advocacy for South Louisiana, a staple of his time in congress, will again be emphasized as he makes the case that Louisiana's coastal and water future is integral to America's long-term economic competitiveness.

The mark up will also provide the opportunity to review the Army Corps of Engineers' activities and projects at the local level so our communities are more resilient against hurricanes, storms and floods while ensuring the long-term viability of our nation's water infrastructure.

The mark up begins at 10:00 AM EST, and a live stream, and Graves' provisions, can be found on the committee's website here.

Highlights of Graves' impacts on WRDA 2018 and WRDA 2016 can be found in the links, respectively.

WRDA, biennial legislation, is part of the president's broader infrastructure package but remains focused on water infrastructure projects, as compared to the recent highway funding bill passed by the U.S. House.
