Graves Announces $328,799.29 Direct Component Grant to St. John the Baptist Parish

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) announced today a $328,799.29 Direct Component grant to St. John the Baptist Parish for its Belle Terre Blvd Streetscape and Stormwater Management Enhancements Project.

The Office of Gulf Coast Restoration in the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) awarded the grant which is funded under the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States Act of 2012 (RESTORE Act). The planning project includes a topographic survey, geotechnical analysis, and final design of a suite of streetscape and stormwater management enhancements for approximately 2.25 miles along Belle Terre Boulevard from Interstate 10 to Airline Highway. The enhancements will include new lighting, stormwater management features, a multiuse path, interpretive signage, and public art displays.

The project is included in St. John the Baptist Parish's amended multiyear plan that was accepted by Treasury on August 9, 2019. The project can reasonably be identified as the eligible activity planning assistance for infrastructure benefiting the economy activity as described in 31 CFR §§ 34.201(j) and (f).
