This is the second announcement of FEMA grants to schools in the 6th Congressional District this week. Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a federal grant totaling $2,806,758.53 to the Ascension Parish School Board for Galvez Primary School for the replacement of contents damaged in the 2016 flood. This is the second announcement of FEMA grants to schools in the 6th Congressional District this week. "Galvez was hit hard in the 2016 Flood. These important funds are long overdue, and we're expecting similar progress for Livingston schools, hopefully very soon. For many families, having their school flood in addition to their homes was tragic. I am proud to have helped secure these FEMA grants to help our schools rebuild," Graves said. |
