Graves Announces $8.6 Million in Federal Funding to Fight Crime, Support Louisiana Law Enforcement

Today, Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) announced that more federal funding is headed to Louisiana to support law enforcement and improve public safety in the Capital Region and statewide. More than $8.6 million in U.S. Department of Justice grants will be deployed to enhance Louisiana's crime-fighting capabilities and provide resources to support law enforcement's efforts to address criminal justice issues.

"This funding will give our law enforcement a boost in their commitment to making Louisiana safer," said Graves. "We'll continue working with our partners at the Department of Justice to ensure Louisiana has the support needed to fight crime."

On September 10th, Graves announced a $699,831 USDOJ grant for Baton Rouge law enforcement to help implement new tactics and emerging technology to fight crime in East Baton Rouge Parish.
