Graves Statement on Incorrect Amnesty International Report

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves issued the following statement regarding the Amnesty International report that incorrectly claimed Israel is an apartheid state.

"Israel is one of America's closest allies. They are a critical defense partner and democratic presence in the region, and our bilateral relationship has produced tremendous benefits in commerce, science, and military cooperation for both countries. We have to keep strengthening this relationship for our mutual security. This report distorts the truth about Israel and draws back the progress made under the Trump Administration with the Abraham Accords. We have to reaffirm our commitment to protecting our ally's stabilizing presence in the region and support Israel against these claims which seek to delegitimize them," Graves said. "To call Israel an apartheid state is not only factually inaccurate, but the accusation also cheapens the experience of anyone who has lived under the horrors of authoritarianism and racial segregation."
