Graves Pro-Louisiana Provisions in Play as House Transportation Committee Takes Up Water Infrastructure Package

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves (South Louisiana) has a slate of provisions on the table to advance Louisiana's ports, inland waterways, flood protection, restoration and other water-related infrastructure priorities as the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee considers the Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA) RIGHT NOW. The biennial legislation authorizes the nation's water resources infrastructure projects and dictates how those investments are selected, prioritized and carried out.

Graves, as a member of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, is positioned to advance the Army Corps of Engineers' activities and projects at the local level so our communities, fisheries, ecosystem and economy are more resilient against hurricanes, storms and floods. This is another opportunity for Graves to highlight Louisiana's coastal and water importance to America's long-term economic competitiveness.

The markup began at 10:00 AM EST, and a live stream, and Graves' provisions, can be found on the committee's website.

Highlights of Graves' impacts on WRDA 2020, WRDA 2018 and WRDA 2016 can be found in the links, respectively.
