You have a lot of people that are talking about spending $3.5 trillion to expand our social welfare programs. To spend $1.2 trillion – including funding on things like human infrastructure that I don't even know what that is. You know, I gotta tell you – we have very different priorities in Louisiana, and I think we have a very different idea on what real infrastructure is. Right now, we're in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida Winds clocked at 194 mph. One of the most powerful storms to ever make landfall in the United States. It's time to focus on recovery. It's time to focus on putting our lives back together again. We still have communities that don't have electricity, no cell service, no internet connection, no water, no wastewater. This is America in 2021. We can do better. We need to focus on real infrastructure, real recovery and on America's priorities." It is unacceptable to politicize our hurricane recovery needs by attempting to combine it with socialist agenda items or flawed infrastructure priorities. ### |
