Louisiana's 6th Congressional District spans 13 Parishes across Southeast Louisiana - from suburban and urban areas
including the state’s capital city, rural communities and farmland to portions of Louisiana’s Bayou Country that
stretch down to Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes. Running through the heart of Congressman Graves’s district is
"America’s Global Commerce Super Highway" – the Mississippi River – which, in conjunction with a web of inland
waterways, access to the Gulf of Mexico and a robust intermodal transportation system, supports Louisiana’s thriving
maritime industry and 5 of the nation’s top 15 ports, a dynamic energy industry that ranks 3rd in the nation in
production and one of the most prolific coastal ecosystems in the world that makes Louisiana the top producer of
commercial seafood in the lower United States.
