Many community events have been planned in light of Sunday’s shootings. Here is an updated list of what we know so far.  If you have an event that you would like us to add, call our office at 225-442-1731.

TUESDAY, July 19th

5:30 PM  Together We Run walk/run for unity organized by area race organizations, running stores and clubs. Three-mile walk/run starts at the steps of the state capitol.

6:00 PM   Law Enforcement Support Ride: Starting at 6 p.m. bikers will assemble at All Star Lanes Bowling Alley (next to McDonalds on Airline Hwy.) and K.S.U. at 6:30 p.m. enroute to Baton Rouge Police Dept. Headquarters on Airline Hwy. & Goodwood Blvd.

6:00 PM  City Wide Prayer Service at House of Prayer Baptist Church at 4143 Sherwood St.

6:00 PM  Night of Prayer at Istrouma Baptist Church at 10500 Sam Rushing Dr. in the Worship Center.

6:00 PM  Community Prayer Service at Straight Life Baptist Church located at 3891 Pocasset Street.

6:30 PM  Community Wide Prayer Vigil at Acacia Church Prayer Vigil, 10051 Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge.

6:30 PM  New Roads Branch NAACP “All Lives Matter!” Prayer Vigil at the Point Coupee Parish Courthouse in New Roads.

6:30 PM  Shining a Light for Peace by Candlelight in Honor of Montrell Jackson at the grounds of Istrouma High School, 3730 Winbourne Ave.

6:30 PM  Prayer service in the sanctuary of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

7:00 PM  Prayer vigil at Christ's Community Church on 26574 Juban Rd. in Denham Springs.

7:30 PM  Community Prayer Vigil at Grace Central Church, 13845 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge.

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 20

2:00 PM  OneBatonRouge Vigil for Fallen Officers at LSU Memorial Tower.

5:30 PM  St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Boulevard, will hold a Healing Mass with special intentions for the peace and healing of Baton Rouge.

6:00 PM  Vigil at St. Joseph BC, 2510 Tennessee St. in Old South Baton Rouge.

6:00 PM  "God of this City" worship and prayer at Hebron Baptist Church, 24063 LA Hwy. 16 in Denham Springs.

6:30 PM  Service of Prayers for Healing for Our Community at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3552 Morning Glory Ave.

6:30 PM  Healing Place Church Arena: A night of worship and prayer hosted by the pastors of the 225 area.

6:30 PM  Community Prayer Service at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church in Plaquemine.

7:00 PM  Community-wide night of prayer and worship at Journey Church, 17407 Greenwell Springs Rd. in Central.

8:00 PM  Candlelight Prayer Vigil at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 16024 Greenwell Springs Rd. in Central.

 

THURSDAY, July 21:

Noon  Baton Rouge United Methodists prayer vigil at North Boulevard Town Square.

5:00 PM  St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganza will dedicate the Thursday evening mass to praying for peace

5:00-9:00 PM Visitation for Officer Matthew Gerald , Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. 

6:30 PM St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus 5530 to host "Scriptural Rosary for Peace and Families” at the STM Church on Goodwood Blvd. 

7:00 PM  River Oaks Baptist Church prayer vigil on 14969 Old Hammond Hwy

7:00 PM  Delta Sigma Theta Sorority community-wide prayer vigil at the Greater King David Baptist Church, 222 Blount Rd.

 

FRIDAY, JULY 22:

9:00-11:00 AM  Visitation for Officer Matthew Gerald, Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Road

11:00 AM  Service for Officer Matthew Gerald, Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Road

7:00 PM Prayer service and prayer vigil for Fallen Officers at The Legacy in Baton Rouge.

7:00 PM Ecumenical prayer vigil at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1358 South Blvd.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 23:

8:00 AM  The World Link of Churches and Businesses, Inc. prayer vigil at the Governor's Mansion. Prayer will begin on the steps of the La. State Capitol at 9 a.m.

10:00 AM  Big Memorial Bike Ride beginning at Double D Daiquiris, 32334 Hwy. 16 in Denham Springs.

NOON  Visitation for Deputy Brad Garafola, Istrouma Baptist Church, 10500 Rushing Drive

2:00 PM  Services for Deputy Brad Garafola, Istrouma Baptist Church, 10500 Rushing Drive

7:00 PM Support the Blue La Candle Light Vigil at the Baton Rouge Police Department, 9000 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge. The vigil will be held in the parking lot and will honor peace officer who put their lives on the line every day.

 

SUNDAY, JULY 24:

Noon   Bishop Robert Muench will offer Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph 412 North Street followed by Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament until 6 p.m., closing with Benediction led by Fr. Joshua Johnson.

4:00 PM City-wide prayer service at First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.

6:00 PM Stand Behind Our Stars free benefit concert at Florida Boulevard Baptist Church, 10915 Florida Boulevard.

 

MONDAY, JULY 25:

9:00-11:00 AM Visitation for Cpl. Montrell Jackson, Living Faith Christian Center, 6375 Winbourne Ave.

11:00 AM   Services for Cpl. Montrell Jackson, Living Faith Christian Center, 6375 Winbourne Ave.

 

THURSDAY, JULY 28:

2:00 PM Memorial service for all three officers killed, hosted by BRPD, EBRSO, and LSP at Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Rd.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 30:

6:00 AM – 4:00 PM  Back the Blue Car Show presented by Cars and Coffee  at Alliance Safety Council of Louisiana, 10099 Reiger Road in Baton Rouge.

 

SUNDAY, JULY 31:

4:00 – 6:00 PM  Stand Behind Our Stars free benefit concert, Florida Boulevard Baptist Church, 10915 Florida Boulevard.
